101in365

It has now been a month since New Year’s Day and perhaps a bit under a month since the New Year’s Resolutions that many sought to undertake fell by the way-side. Now is perhaps the time to have another look at those resolutions (and perhaps others we have thought about and done little with) and plan to do something about them. This is where 101in365 comes in. 101in365 is a web application/social network that provides a tool to assist tn meeting goals – 101 of them in fact, in 365 days.

The first thing you need to do (after registering of course) is come up with a list of 101 things you would like to achieve in a year (365 days). You enter these into your listing of 101 aims/goals. Once this is done you can lock your list in and begin the work required to bring them to past. You are able to update your list by marking each item as in progress and then to mark off each item as it is achieved.

With 101in365, you are able to keep your list of goals private or you can share them with the wider 101in365 community and/or your friends and family. It’s up to you. You are also able to interact with others via both Twitter and Facebbok if you like.

The tool itself is rather simple to you and before you know it you can have it all up and running. It is somewhat more difficult to actually achieve the goals you set yourself. At least this tool is a welcome way to assist in reaching your goals and is certainly able to be used as a means of encouragement and stimulus.

The Wilderness Downtown: A Google Chrome Masterpiece

Now this is something special from the Google team of developers. It is called ‘The Wilderness Downtown’ and is a collaboration between Chris Milk, Google and Arcade Fire (Band). It brings together a number of web technologies including HTML 5, Google Maps and Google Street View. It is something to experience and could well be a look to the future of the World Wide Web.

The Parramatta Eels

I’m probably not a huge rugby league fan, but I have been something of a Parramatta Eels fan since the 1970s. Of course their best period was in the 1980s with four premierships – they also came close a couple of times, including last year (when they were beaten by the now known salary cap cheats, the  Melbourne Storm)

Go the Eels!!!

Evernote: Changes to Premium Accounts Make Evernote Even Better

I use Evernote and have a premium account to which I save all manner of files and notes that otherwise would clutter my life. I use Evernote as an archive to which I can turn should I ever need something that I have stored digitally there. It is a great service which I will be using more and more as time goes by. This is why I am very impressed with the latest improvements to the Evernote service and why I have decided to post on Evernote for my post today.

Evernote now has a ‘history’ feature, allowing premium users to view a file over time as it develops. A past version of a note can be downloaded just as easily as the current version of the note. These historical views of files are not added to the monthly upload limit that premium users have for their accounts.

Another upgrade to the premium service is that individual note sizes have now been doubled from 25 Mb to 50 Mb, which certainly allows for much larger notes to be saved and uploaded. The current monthly limit of 500 Mb of file uploads a month may soon be increased also.

It is great to be a premium account holder at Evernote.

New Years Resolutions

At this time of the year many people like to try and do something positive via a New Year’s Resolution or the like – perhaps more than one. So for today’s ‘one’ I have a link to offer. This is to a site called MySomeday.com.

This site is another take on social networking, this time offering the opportunity to share your desire to achieve something and to work out the means to do so. There is of course the opportunity to interact with others and to gain support as you seek to do so, as well as sharing ways of achieving your goal.
