Browser-based Nation Simulation Game: Nation States

Nation States is another free browser-based nation simulation game I have been playing which is quite different to Cyber Nations. In Nation States you create your nation and decide in which region of the world it will be located. The nation is developed and advanced through answering a question or two each day, so it doesn’t take a lot of time to play. You are able to interact with other nations through various aspects of the game.

Plinky

For today’s ‘daily’ I’m going to post about a new service from ‘Automattic,’ the guys behind WordPress.com. They have a new service called ‘Plinky.’

Basically, what this new service is all about is giving its members prompts for Blog posts. The service will ask you a question, which you then answer. This then becomes your Blog post, which can be added to your usual Blogging platform, such as WordPress (which is what I do). It can be shared direct from the site or embedded via a code that Plinky provides. I have been copying and pasting this code into my web editor in order to format the text as I would like it to appear in my Blog.

I think this is a great little service to help those just starting out in Blogs, as it will provide you with the basis for a daily post. It will also help those who struggle to come up with content for their Blogs.

Me? I just use it to supplement what I already post – to give my Blog a little more personal appeal.

Facebook

Undoubtedly the majority of people who come across this posting will already be users of Facebook or at least have heard of Facebook. So why do I want to post a link to Facebook as today’s URL? That’s a very good question and I have a simple answer to it.

Over the years friends have come and friends have gone. In the time since I started to use Facebook, I have been able to re-establish contact with so many people that have been my friends over the years. Today, I have been able to reconnect with another friend from the past – so, this is the reason for posting Facebook as today’s URL. It is a great tool for maintaining friendships and for re-establishing friendships from the past.
