The Fridge

If you’re interested in setting up a group/community/social network, perhaps you might like to check out ‘The Fridge.’ The Fridge is a place where you can set up a free group/community/social network. There are plenty of places these days for setting up a group and/or a social network. You could of course try Google Groups, Grou.ps and/or Yahoo Groups. If you are happy to pay there are other possibilities including Ning. The Fridge is not a site I had even heard of until a few days ago, but it could be worth a look or worth experimenting with for a while.

A member of a Fridge group gets a personal profile, which has a wall similar to Facebook. You can also post a photo for your profile. It really is a very simple social network providing a very basic service. It really seems to be a way of having very basic communication with other members of the group. You can post a picture with a post. So basically it provides a secure and private place for communicating. I guess email really accomplishes the same thing to some degree.

Namo Web Editor

I used to use Windows Live Writer to update my various Blogs. I found it to be a very useful application/tool. However, as the number of posts in my Blog grew, I found that the software slowed down dramatically and it also began to play up on a very regular basis. Eventually I decided I needed to try something different. This process has interrupted my Blog posting for months and I have now settled on using the same software I use to maintain my various other websites – Namo Web Editor.

I use Namo Web Editor 2006 on my Windows 7 lap top without a problem and feel I have no need to upgrade to the latest version. However, I suspect that at some point I will probably do so and will very happily pay to do so. I believe that Namo Web Editor is a brilliant product and very easy to use.

To post to my WordPress Blogs, all I do is copy the HTML code and paste it into the HTML editor in my WordPress dashboard. On the dashboard I input the various post categories and tags, as well as set the time for my post (often posting for the future). This way I get my Blog post to look exactly as I wish it to look – especially given that I prefer a fully justified paragraph format.

PS: I wasn’t paid to advertise or comment on this product – I use it and love it.

Sermon Audio

Here is a great site for sermons. You are able to download both MP3s and videos of the sermons. For a number of sermons there are PDF transcripts available – if there aren’t any available you can pay a fee to have one done for you.

It is a great site, with not only sermons available, but other forms of teaching available also. The latest in Christian news can also be found via this site.
