Tracing our History

I have been away from this Blog for the last several weeks because of the work I have been doing on one of my sites. I have been transferring, reviewing and updating my genealogy website and the work is now more-or-less completed. There are several pages that still require a bit of work, but the majority of the site is now functioning correctly. The site has been moved to a new domain and host, and has also had a major overhaul.

Spruz – Create and Grow Your Own Social Network

After being through the dramas that occurred at Ning and now Grou.ps (see yesterday’s post), I have now moved by social networking activities over to Spruz. I did think that Grou.ps had a lot of potential, but having abandoned that platform I am trying out the Spruz platform. So far I am impressed. I think some of the themes could do with some work and the one I am using is fairly average I guess, but it does the job. Maybe I can tinker with it some more when I have a bit more time.

Without doubt I’d have to say that the platform at Spruz is far more stable and the outfit far more professional than what I was used to over at Grou.ps. So in short, thus far Spruz has my endorsement.

The Grandis

100_0163

The tallest tree in New South Wales – Australia. Yesterday’s photo covered the bottom of the tree on the approach to it – today’s photo shows the top of it.

A correction concerning the location of the tree is also in order. Yesterday I said it was located in Wang Wauk State Forest – and it once was. It hasn’t sprouted legs and moved elsewhere, but it has now been included in the Myall Lakes National Park.
