Boolaroo

I drove through Boolaroo yesterday, which was the first time in a while. Boolaroo is the town I grew up in. I have many memories of that town and of the school in the main street, which is where I did all of my primary school education – Boolaroo Public School.

I also had a quick look at the house that I grew up in – it looks nothing like it used to. It was once a well looked after, neat property – not so much anymore.

Near Orange

This photo, taken quite some time ago, was taken near Orange. It’s just a house in the distance.

 

A Lookout from the Past

I have recently begun to salvage some images from slides taken well into the past – from the family archives. These archives I have had for some time and now I have the technology to be able to bring these images back into the present. So for the next few days I plan to post a number of these photos from past slides taken by my grandfather many years ago.

Today’s image has me in the middle of the photo pointing to something that can be seen from the lookout. I’m not sure just what it is that I am pointing to – possibly towards my house. I’m fairly sure that the lookout is that of Mount Sugarloaf near Newcastle in New South Wales, Australia. On my left is my brother David and on my right is my cousin Michael.

Penzu: Create a Private or Public Diary

Some people like to have a diary in which they pen their private thoughts – just for themselves. Penzu is the online equivalent of that idea. It will also allow you to share your diary or journal should you to choose to do so. However, one the best things about Penzu is that it is unlikely to be found by nosey people looking about your house – even your partner or other family members.
