It was two years ago today that my dear friend Rebecca died, far too young. This photo is of a special day we spent together in the Barrington Tops National Park (Gloucester Tops). I will always remember it, as I will always remember Rebecca. Thinking of you today and missing you all the more. I miss you Bec.
Barrington Tops
Crossing Over
This photo is another from the slides that I managed to salvage from my grandfather’s collection. I have simply called it ‘crossing over.’ Why? Because my cousin Michael and I are crossing over a bridge. Quite simple really.
I am not entirely sure where this photo was taken, but it does resemble an old bridge that once crossed a stream as you headed into the Barrington Tops from Gloucester, in New South Wales, Australia. Perhaps someone will recognise the location and either confirm or correct me on that.
I am the smaller of the two boys in the photo. My cousin Michael is on the left of the photo.

Gloucester River Falls: Another Shot
Gloucester Tops: Andrew Laurie Lookout
This shot is taken from the Andrew Laurie Lookout, which is on the short track to the Gloucester River Falls in the Gloucester Tops section of the Barrington Tops National Park in New South Wales, Australia.
The walk from the car park to the lookout is only about 5 to 10 minutes of easy walking, with a further 5 to 10 minutes until the Gloucester River Falls are reached. The circuit track back to the car park only takes about 30 minutes to complete in total and is an easy walk on a bush track, with some minor rises along the way.
Gloucester River Falls: Above the falls
This picture is of the Gloucester River above the falls pictured in the last two posts.
There are a series of falls along this stretch of the river, including a section I have been unable to reach because of the drop. One day I hope to trace the river upstream and locate the last section of the falls and get some photos.
The area photographed includes some great little spots for a dip on a hot day.
Gloucester River Falls: Looking Further Down River
Today’s photo is another shot of the Gloucester River Falls area and is a view from the waterfall in yesterday’s photo. The view is of the river further downstream. It really is a beautiful location.
The climb from the waterfall to the base and further downstream can be a little tricky – especially when there has been some rain about and the river is running higher than normal.
Gloucester River Falls: My Favourite Spot in New South Wales
I thought that I might post some photos from my archives over the next week or so – specifically of a place I really love. The Gloucester River Falls on the Gloucester River of course, are located within the Gloucester Tops section of the Barrington Tops National Park in New South Wales, Australia. This area is my favourite spot in New South Wales.
Over the next week I hope to post photos of this area – not just the falls, but the surrounding area as well. I hope you enjoy them.
This particular view is a spot I would have to say is my favourite spot of the Gloucester Falls area. I have been trying to get the ‘just right’ shot for years.
